Install and Level Stair Structure

What happens here

With the footing location prepared, carefully lift and position the assembled stair structure. Align the top of the stair stringers with the deck frame and set the bottom onto the prepared footing. Use a level, such as a Johnson brand level, to check that the stairs are perfectly horizontal across the treads and vertical on the risers.
