ELECTRICIAN INSTALLS CAR CHARGER FOR CUSTOMER AND THIS HAPPENED!

whoever's watching this I know this year I'm just feeling it I woke up this morning and I was like you know what all electricians and all blue collars we're going to be successful this year it's going to be a good year for everybody and anybody who's watching so we got a special one for you guys today we got a service call we installed an EV charger today for a customer who had a brand new Mercedes eqe a lot of people have been dming me and asking I want to see a service call well I'm going to show you one live today right now all right I wake up it's bright and early in New Jersey guys 8:00 a.m. and I'm getting my breakfast sandwich and coffee from a place called Paris spaghetti now if you're in a blue collar trade it's very easy for any Tradesman to go get breakfast in the morning and I highly recommend if you want to save some money you know just make some food at home because you know it Stacks up over time getting breakfast every day but currently I live in in New Jersey I'm an electrician from New Jersey and this is what a drive in New Jersey looks like and it's rural uh Suburban there's a lot of different areas in New Jersey I wonder comment what you are from uh cuz I'm curious but we are now arrived at a town home and this is what a town home looks like everybody and the customer wants an EV charger charge Point installed and here is the charge Point Unit now we've installed plenty of these at my company uh I have a lot of experience in stuff in these and I just want to show you guys you know our game plan now there is a small garage that the customer has typically in these town homes and I am now entering the basement and I just want to get a feel every time before we do a job we just want to get a feel of the customer's home and as you can see uh the panel is in a wide open spot very accessible and we need to run in line an EV charger 50 amp line to that panel now first thing I look at is where are my obstructions now there's a lot of duct work there is HVAC in the way and we managed to run the line actually through the HVAC and I was in charge of that while my brother Ken on the job he's a journeyman he was doing mainly the condo work and it was a tight squeeze and a tight access job but you know we at we were made able to get through and right now in this scene actually I got a lot of insulation in my eyes and I highly recommend if you're an electrician to wear safety glasses I'm not wearing safety glasses right now but you know you'd be surprised you know the stuff that lands in your eyes when you're going in a a person's basement or an attic you know particles fly in your eye uh insulation you know wear safety glasses but here's the wire route that we ran guys and we ended up uh running it behind the Ducks and I'm showing you guys the current situation of the electrical panel now the customer lives in a town hall and there is SE cable ran and there's a difference between sc cable and seu so SE has a neutral which is an additional conductor versus seu has only uh three conductors so let me let me explain so SC has four conductors seu has three conductors when you install SC it is for a sub panel the customer has a sub panel here but we ended up installing the 50 amp breaker the two Hots go into the breaker and then the ground Goes On The Ground Bar all right so now we have the breaker terminated the wire landed on the top knockout of the panel 50 amp breaker and I'm about to show you guys now the garage now here is the conduit that we ran for the customer now we did an excellent job my brother is an excellent pipe God he is the pipe God and I mainly do the wire running in the basement and the panel terminations but right now I am actually terminating the charge point and as you can see I'm showing you guys right now the what the wiring is supposed to look like it's actually relatively simple how to install these charge points and these EV charges a lot of people ask me you know is it really that hard is it complex if you know what you're doing you know like a doctor he goes to work every day and he's you know gives a diagnosis it's his job but there an electrician you know some days are easy some days are harder you know some days we got a complex house some days we got an easy house but it's typically for an Eevee charger two Hots in a ground so we ran number six gauge wire for this 50 amp EV charger so 62 RX in the basement and going to number six THHN and the customer is satisfied here is his Mercedes eqe we lit up he is so happy and that's how what it looks like
