Detail Sanding on Cabinetry and Moldings

What happens here

When sanding cabinet moldings or other detailed areas, the small profile of the orbital sander allows for precise control. Hold the sander firmly and carefully work along the contours and edges. For painted cabinets, use a medium to fine grit (e.g., 150-220 grit, potentially FILMTEK sheets or EKASILK sponges for conforming to curves) to gently remove the old paint or prime surface for a new coating without damaging the intricate profiles. Angle the sander slightly if necessary to follow curves, but avoid excessive tilting that could create unevenness. The attached dust extraction is particularly useful here to prevent dust accumulation in crevices.
