Hey folks, that fix the guy here and today I've got to change up my tub tray. All right, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's getting to be a little bit annoying. So come along, let's get to fix it. So what we're going to be installing today is this little toe tapper right here. All right, they call it a foot lock, a toe tapper. You actually just push this down with your foot. It locks in place. You can open it up just by clicking one side. It says open and close right on it. Let's get this hooked up, unscrew the support. We'll see how this works. It's got this rubber little piece right here with a gasket. First thing you got to do though is get this old one out. You usually push this down and spin it and then it will pop out. The actual finish has come off of this. And this actually, I bought this at a supply house. The finish has come off of this, right? So not only was it hard for this to come up and go down and actually stay in one place, it doesn't seal so great anymore. So we're getting rid of it. So I just want to show you close to the big reason of why this is no getting changed out, right? It's because of this piece right here. Just to finish, you can pull the zine away and it looks like that. It's pot puddle, apparently, and that's just eating away, right? Big rough edge there and did not seal so well anymore. And apparently, we've got a freaking shower leak that's just appeared today. Now my tub shower valve is leaking. I just, I'm just toilet paper up in there. That way it just keeps everything all nice and dry. Oh man, that's loose. This everything's fallen apart, man. This is home ownership, okay? And it's finest. So if you have the bar in here, it's great. We're having a dumb battle. Wow, big size not fitting in this one. The small size is going to fit right down in there. It either take a big screwdriver and go in one of these holes, right, or you can get your screwdriver up in here to you. Or if you don't have a screwdriver that'll fit in there, you can always take an adjustable jaw wrench as well. I can't believe this started leaking. Oh man, we're going to have to do a shower cartridge replacement. We have to do a color tub shower cartridge replacement soon. With my camera setup, I can't really use my screwdriver in the way that I like to. So that's all right. And just be able to remove this. Oh, a little bit of hair right there too, okay? I'll do a little cleaning while we're there. Right there, but oh gosh. You might say that that hair cleaner didn't work. Oh my gosh. That hair catcher. I don't know, man. I think some stuff has got past it. Holy, what? Oh man. What is going on there? Wow, kind of in some ways. So I'm going to be fair to my wife and say that most of that hair probably came before we started using this awesome little thing. Because it catches a lot of hair. So then you're just going to want to take your screwdriver. You're going to want to pull this down just a little bit and just get that popped up. You'll be able to pop that out. Now we've got all rocking and rolling. We're going to grab our new one, spin this part, grab yourself a bit of plumber's putty. I'll put a link for a smaller tub of this stuff. Nobody needs this big unless you're doing a lot of work. Roll it out, pull out your old school Play-Doh skills from back in the day. Our new gasket is going to go underneath here, but I like to put some mega lock on both sides. Okay, a little bit of pipe dope. This stuff is good for metal and plastic. I'm going to push this back down a little bit and just going to get that started. You just want to work it in between that gap. There you go. So we got that rolling. The other thing I like to do, a little bit of tough one. Okay, after you put that on, I just like a little bit of tough one. The same tons of tough one. This is just enough to make sure that it comes out the next time I want it to come out. You've seen some of these things not come out. People say, oh man, it doesn't matter. It's a coming in plastic. It'll come out of plastic. Sometimes they're hard, man. Sometimes these things break. These crosses break out of here. This thing can be a little bit of a barrier to get out. I just like to make it as easy as possible. Then we're going to go a little bit more mega lock on here. Get that in. I like to spin it a little counterclockwise until you feel it click. And now we can start tightening. Get that dumbbell on there. Start getting it around. screwdriver up in here to you. All right, this works a lot better when trying to tighten or take a part for that matter. Works out really nice. It's like to show you a couple different ways. There's always more than one way to skin a cat, right? This starts pulling away out here. That means it's actually sealed pretty good. All right, I'll go a little bit past that just to make sure it's snug. But we've got a good seal there. And you can feel it. You'll be able to feel it too. Yeah, that's good. Plumber's putty has sealed to the top of the tub. And then this gasket has sealed from the top of the drain shoe to the bottom of the tub. All right, and you're hooked up. That's pretty much that. Right, we'll go around here, collect our excess off of here. Then all you have to do is pop your little toe taper in here. Okay, get that thing nice and closed up. Okay. Ah, dang it. So that got me wet, got the camera wet. But as you can see, it's so working pretty good here. And so now we can click that down there. It's got a good ol' vortex, working pretty well. All right, so this is real life for me. Not only do I have to get in there and replace a cooler tub shower valve that's leaking now, but then I just got soaking wet. It's what it is. This is real life guys, real world problems. I really hope you folks are enjoying the videos. If you can please subscribe, click that like button. We'd love to have you keep coming back.
