Easy Fix For Automatic Back Door On Toyota Highlander That Fell Apart! #helpingothers #diy
What happens here
With the interior panel successfully removed, the loose bolt securing the liftgate arm is now accessible. A small amount of removable threadlocker (a blue formula is generally ideal for automotive applications where fasteners might need future removal) is applied to the threads of this bolt. Before proceeding with tightening, ensure the small metal bracket that secures the liftgate arm is perfectly aligned with the bolt hole. Then, using a 1/2 inch open-end wrench, the bolt is securely tightened until snug. This application of threadlocker, combined with proper tightening, will help prevent the bolt from loosening again due to vibrations and regular use of the liftgate.
Goal: Permanently secure the loose liftgate arm to the vehicle body, preventing future loosening.
