Duramax Tie Rod, Pitman, and Idler Upgrade With Father John! (Elvis The LBZ)

big old its father down here today we're gonna be replacing the unholy Idol off it but I'm on this beautiful got meet boss TMC door max pickup truck today so that meant you can take that big beautiful Escalade around on his new trailer all around the country spreading the good word alone the most power drag racing have fun and not being a dick amen so we're out here doing some stuff getting Cole Elvis here ready for active tow Duty again because I'm selling my dually and this is my old truck I never sold it after I bought the dually I had it for sale but I was never around to show it to anybody when they wanted to see it so still have it plans reach Ange the end up being convenient that I skipped it cuz I'm gonna sell the dually go back driving this thing it's a 2007 classic LBZ Duramax named Elvis just because I don't know I start calling it when I got it this is John father John he's not actually a father but if you know him from Instagram this is his persona because he was baptized in there in one day yeah there Neil baptized we got all kinds of fun stuff in here we're doing Pitman Tyler tie rods we got AC Delco for the Pitman and I'd alert because Moog stuff is garbage and got these BP PPE tie rods and the whole father John's gonna quarterback the operation cuz he's already done the Pitman and idler on the gods main choice holy Sierra here he says he knows what he's doing alright so what we gotta do first here well first what you do you take this a couple different ways we want to go underneath the truck and we're good take off these two castle nuts underneath there and there's cotter pins with the two castle nut sultan cotter pins on the Pippin idler yeah this is really the only tool that really needed to bring this is the o TC part number seven three one zero a brothers and sisters this tool knows the deal it's not cast like all the other ship ones out there you got to get good stuff to do the job right so this is gonna work great I've worked done this on another Duramax before and we broke three of them before we got it off and that one lived in western Pennsylvania whole life Oh Elvis here is from Texas so he's pretty mint-condition far as a two hundred and seventy thousand mile Dar max goes directional here so it clamps on and push it out there so we gotta get in there and get the creepers out here find some big sockets and get these nuts off so this nice puller a little bit back it up Terry this is like only tricky part with this tool but it makes it a lot nicer but lining up both sides Wow yeah well the GoPro decided to start in time work when I screwed it up when he hit the button so but it popped off like nobody's business popped off like Carol bastion all right so now the next part is we got a fan angle or way up front here it's a 21 millimeter there's two bolts that hold that bracket in so basically if you were only doing your idler arm I don't know which one we're doing what side this is Pam and I are I don't know this is the idler so if you're doing your idler it's relatively simple you would undo these two bolts over here reposition that and then get it all together put it back in and then you're done bing-bam-boom I need to get some sway bar bushings they're all dried up you yetiz these are popped John's got dandelions in his hair probably got some helicopters in his ass I don't care exchange lines of my hair cat well we got the racket dealio off of here doesn't seem to be any play in it but it looks bad it's just ugly yeah I'm hungry just because it's your name bracket with you ugly so he's got basically repeat the same process yes this time what you want to do is meter on both the steam box and start eating insects we got the polar all tightened in on there he got tighten it good that one yeah I think we'll just what we did a good job today bloody here we've got the bathroom sides off and then we did it for the Queen in England and then you know where are the crumpets some grease on your truck I'm sorry Oh tell me a scary story one time I had a cheeseburger I had two runs we up bak night to put this thing back together I got some sway bar bushings I think it's gonna make a really big difference cuz like look how freaking squishy and these are there but they're way way more solid than those got some of these energy suspension poly end links for the sway bar under here these ones are all dried out clapped out that one's even separating idler bracket yeah I got to move one that I didn't want to but it did because it looked like the good kind yeah it looks it looks pretty beefy I wouldn't put move ball joints on anything but this thing's probably okay it's probably okay you think use your original tie rod ends this green boot I don't know I don't know what color with factory Buddhas somebody no let me knew but we didn't do that that was already ripped and part of the reason that these things were bad so this is AC Delco port yeah and this is the standard so like you did this is what came on the truck which is technically a cedar right yeah so circa 2007 but like what can't like the difference of the beef like this is freaking thick like danboy thick ass boy right there you know what I mean notice that also these are different lengths hmm they are a little bit it's just this one just has the little Allen thingy to hold it in there yeah oh wait there's no way Laurens gone wow that was like really easy yeah I thought we had like precedent I kind of did you honestly worth noting that uh there was so much grease and crowd on the shaft that I didn't see that it did telescope so pretty sure it did did only the victor oxides on as you can see it so I pulled on it and it did so now we just got a press that back in there a little bit and put this boat in would be good if they think Gooch outside inside engine side outside all right well sometimes I forget that um tight to me is like never ever going to come out level tight for a regular person and I've woke it so you know work now mo yeah we've screwed up we got some easy outs and we're gonna give the other zerk fitting yeah I do put it up there let's give the old tap tap tap-a-roo I was there this year and they were doing it Sundance getting me to the Sundance Film Festival for this angle Oh daddy yes breathe that easy out neighbor fart oh it's gonna break easy out yeah I can see the UH I can see the stress lines starting to happen we need to get a bigger easy-out vodka slightly bigger easy out got this other one in here and it's gonna work oh all right Mitchell you get it all out absolutely here we go in it okay now let's put this one in halfway you know spongebob big tail okay big toe this one nice and easy okay big toe yeah it's at a high light did you decide button do the highlight I don't know I have a big grease gun and you have a little grease gun and you find other grease you just have to improvise sometimes yeah when this building used to be a trucking company guess they left this grease upstairs like a bazillion tubes of them seized there oh yeah I've been using them I don't know it's freaking grease from like the 70s probably whenever grease was still grease toxic so the pitman and idler bracket are all in center links pulled it back up so basically we were done and now we're doing the tie rods because all that stuff has to be stable to do those so we got the driver's side tire right off into this one side at a time now we're reassembling the end on here just to use it as a point of reference to get it somewhat close so that I hopefully don't have to trailer it to get a line we get these big honkers on here just definitely bad right yeah overall upgrade so this is gonna help with doing those digs get some silly comments trucks right no see okay I mean it'll help but I don't really plan on doing digs of this truck so at the knife thrashing I wouldn't finished up next day by myself and after driving it around a little bit this thing is phenomenal like really it's totally new truck is so much tighter and the sway bar poly bushings I think made a huge difference the energy suspension ones up here when it really well Dhiraj super stout apologize for their forget it feels like a whole new truck just getting in there that's steering it like I can sit in here and jerk the wheel and the truck actually goes like this it doesn't just like it used to so I'm pretty pumped about that I think I'm gonna order like either Delco or kryptonite is a popular ball joints are pretty expensive but I've also read that me Bo Tech is like the kryptonite but rebrands them something like that not putting moves back in there no way so yeah I came out pretty well maybe learn something I know the video wasn't super informative as far as like the tactile that's in bold scope there's plenty videos know how to do that this one's more or less to just kind of have fun while being productive so hit that subscribe
