(11,355 characters)machine and that is the day that the vent Trak tractor [Music] died Stony [Music] brid W how not to fry your vent track guys today on the Stony Ridge farmer Channel I want to talk to you guys about ownership of a vent TR I had a problem with it I fried it I killed the vent track it would not run and today we're going to talk about that what you need to know in case you're thinking about buying one of these machines and or any farm tractor diesel machine I don't care if it's a backo trackco mini X vent Trak whatever it is you need to know this guys let's get busy take them off are you kidding me all right folks welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm Channel this is your first time here your 50th please hit the like button consider subscribing to the Channel all around us is a first gener a regenerative Farm meaning we try not to use any sort of chemical input here on the Stony Ridge Farm we don't use glyphosate we try our very best to not have to fertilize to do our very best to bring carbon to the land build the soil and we're in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where we just have no top soil now this is a vent Trak this is called the vent Trak 4500 y it has a k cabota diesel it's like 24.8 horsepower cabota diesel a little hydraulic artic articulating awesome tractor this machine is one of the most used machines and it is the tractor almost with the highest hours on the farm I've got a John Deere that I bought new also back in 2013 it has about 900 hours this machine has 521 hours currently on it I fried the vent TR and I'll tell you this is in no way a slight upon the wonderful hard workking American workers in Orville Ohio where this machine is built those people are the salt that Earth those are the best people I've met and I feel like they're family vent Trak is not a sponsor of the channel we did work with them in the past and here is how I fried the vent Trak and you need to know this if you have a tractor if you have a mower if you have any piece of diesel equipment don't do what I did so if you don't know what a vent Trak is this is a little articulating tractor meaning the steering wheel does not turn the wheels it articulates the entire machine so this Wags back and forth or vice versa the back end Wags back and forth there stuff that you need to know here and I'm going to show you I'm going to tell you all about it service on this machine there are several grease points down here those grease points are super easy to get to but there's a grease point in here that simply is ridiculous for me to get to and when I took it into my dealer to have it serviced it didn't greas it so there is a CV joint or U joint right there and another one right there that's underneath the radiator the is kind of facing backwards in this and the radiator is facing backwards it's a huge radiator you got to think about this thing is constantly pulling air through that Radiator in that direction okay it draws air in through here and blows air out through there to help cool the engine super simple the tires are awesome I do believe our PSI on those tires needs to be somewhere between 8 and 12 you'd have to refer to your owner's manual on that I love the machine I love the accessibility I love everything but lubricating that ridiculous um U joint that's right in the middle right there it takes a little bit of time to do that and I'll tell you and I'm not going to name the service place I took it to but they didn't do it they just simply didn't do it when I got it home I asked them to change all the belts and this is when I broke the tractor we loaded it up on the trailer or truck they took it in for service I said change all the hoses and belts change all the belts for sure check the hoses make sure it needs anything we're going to go ahead and get it done it came back when I unloaded it off of the uh truck the belt was frayed and they didn't do what they were supposed to do obviously they didn't lubricate what they were supposed to lubricate I hope they changed the oil and did all that I don't know I I'm not going to name names but I'm very disappointed in the service that I got uh I'm just very disappointed in that I can't I don't know I don't know how else to say it they did however fix the problem and let let's talk about the tractor just a little bit more so on this tractor is a front mount system right here there are two hooks basically that help you to mount up various implements vent TR has a pile of different implements this is the Finish mode deck there's a tough cut brush hog deck that cuts really thick brush it's an awesome machine again 24.8 horsepower K cabota diesel here's your fuel tank right here I do have the threep point we're on a farm here I have the threep point so I can drag my driveway so I can put a landscape rake on there whatever I need to do with the 3point it's right there there's a little hydraulic cooler right here a little bit of storage right here and these are the three handles that run the three-point and there are hydraulic hookups on the rear of this machine there're also hydraulic hookups on the front of this machine and this is a hydraulic deck so I can hook those up and flip the deck all the way up so that I can access the blades change the blades sharpens the blades and take care of everything I need to take care of this is a great machine guys it's absolutely Been instrumental in my practice here on the farm and in making this place Place absolutely gorgeous now what happened so this is my goto this has a 72in cutting deck on it finished mower deck 72 in it allows me to mow my yard in about 45 minutes with a used to take me on a 54 in little putt putt mower three maybe 4 hours to get all the mowing done here on the farm around the house just around the house just to keep maintenance up around the house this has been the most instrumental mower on the farm I take this machine all the way around the farm in other words I have 3 to 5 miles of fence line that has a 16t swath mode on the outside perimeter so that I don't have trees and stuff toppling over it is a fantastic fence line maintenance machine it is the most used summertime tractor on the Stony Ridge Farm period Point Blank I use a Batwing mower I get out here I mow some stuff with the Batwing it does fantastic but I'm done in 45 minutes when I need to really get work done and make stuff really shine this is the machine to do it my Zer Turn Mowers from Toro do a fantastic job mowing the yard but when we get into Rough and Tumble stuff and really steep Pond Banks and or mowing the edge of ponds like this we can hang the deck out over the pond and go Root Root Root and mow that so I was on the other side of the farm and this is exactly what happened I was looking at my fuel gauge and I popped the little cap out and I looked down in the fuel tank and I was like man you're running really low on fuel dude you better get back to the house really quickly oh I've only got another 30 ft to mow if you've ever ran out of fuel in a diesel machine you know it's a problem so it started to hiccup I heard it it kind of sured I was like oh no we're running out so I shut the fuel off it already had sucked up a little bit of air into the fuel system what that did did and what I probably should have done was stop it right then fill it up with fuel turn my key on Let It Pump Fuel throughout the machine crack the fuel lines open and bleed the system what I did not do and again that's why I say this is in no way a slight on Ventra this is a slight on me for being an idiot okay I let it run out almost so I started the machine After I filled it back up it would fire up for a about 20 seconds 30 seconds and run and then it would die so I started again it'd fire up for a 20 30 seconds maybe a minute and it would kind of and it would die this is something that's pretty common I have run out of fuel in one of my diesel tractors up there before and it's pretty common when you run out of fuel sometimes you got to prime it sometimes you don't maybe I needed to prime it maybe I didn't so I kept starting it I start it stop start it stop sometimes it would run for two to three maybe four minutes as soon as as it went under power it was dead so the engine would die again I sat down here in the middle of the road this is a a public road right here I sat down in the middle of the road for about 2 hours starting it and stopping it when I did that this thing has a master fuse system on it I evidently did not blow the master fuse but I did fry the computer so the Surge from starting and stopping and starting and stopping and starting and stopping over and over and over and over somehow messed up something in the computer system on this thing and it was just out of warranty so I had to eat that I had to eat a new computer I messed up I started and stopped it started and stopped it over and over and over again and that is the day that the vent Trak tractor died so the lesson from an ownership standpoint that needs to be learned here for anyone running any diesel equipment I don't care if it's a vent track or if it's a regular farm tractor or if it's an old Massie Ferguson 135 keep track of your fuel fuel nowadays and the only problems I've ever had with this machine have been fuel problems aside from that electrical problem keep track of your fuel guys keep a treatment in your fuel we live here in North Carolina and algae will grow in your fuel I have had algae issues with the fuel in this machine and in virtually every tractor on the farm I will post a link to Diesel power service is what I use in every piece of Machinery in the farm and it's not recommended in every piece of Machinery I have a fuel tank on the back of the truck I treat every tank of fuel with diesel power service and that has stopped all of my fuel issues on the farm Diesel power service if you run diesel equipment buy a case of it and keep it that stuff works so let's lesson learned vent Trak ownership experience this has been a fantastic machine the only issues I've ever had were fuel issues and issues that I caused myself do not do not do not let this machine run out of fuel or you will regret it and so will your wallet guys and gals I wanted to share this little tidbit with you so hopefully you won't have the same problems that I have I love the vent track it's an instrumental piece of equipment on the farm but do not run this piece of equipment out of fuel because you will have serious troubles you will cost yourself some dollars and you could potentially ruin the whole machine thank you guys so much we'll see you next time on the Stony Ridge Farm Channel hit that like button and watch another video there's more stuff right here for you to watch take care have a great day woo come on down to the ston ridge bring your wife and bring your kids for living life and sweet that's way supposed go here's the rules you ready I had to get on one of these bikes here's the rules we're racing to the last cone down here get set go W he's more out of breath than I am and he got a rolling start we go nice contact little te take them off are you kidding me ah well there's a testament to vent Trak strength I didn't attach the quick attach appropriately on the uh pallet forks I guess that's what happens when you get in a
