Dollar Store Brush Review. Painting With $1 Dollar Brushes.

[Applause] [Music] so today we got an interesting test and you actually cut in a ceiling line with a dollar store paintbrush this is our Dollar Store review can you actually paint a room with um tools from the dollar store so this is a good test as any so we've got this super dark color right here a matte finish we're using bare Dynasty and can I actually cut a line with this dollar paintbrush now that's about as cheap as you can possibly get for a paint brush but let's put it to the test and you paint a room with Dollar Store tools here we go and more specifically can I actually cut a line with a so let's see how this thing performs it's pretty stiff right off the back so um not what I would want for this paint but here we go with the dollar store challenge I mean a flat brush a little hard to get in the corner but you can imagine there um white marks underneath it's not allow the paint to cover 100 but so right off the bat I notice it doesn't hold a lot of pain so I can't drag my line very far about one third of what I could with a good paintbrush so I film its um aren't making a nice point so it's back and back roll here so I'm using a one coat paint and it's not allowing it to cover in one toe because it's so stiff it's leaving white streaks all over the place oh this is not gonna work out so well um my ceiling doesn't have to look so good enough the filaments aren't staying together they're separating and it's it's not giving me a nice like Sharp point to draw a line with it they're all splayed out yeah this is not going to happen I think I'm gonna have to stop this right here go do a real brush so what I'm seeing with this rust is it can absolutely be um challenging and absolute nightmare frustrating this is we're doing ceiling cut-ins um you know if you're a do-it-yourselfer it can be a frustrating hard thing to do when you're not using a good paint brush a good paint brush holds more paint you can draw a line a lot farther it's going to cut in a sharper line it's going to not leave um streaks right this is so stiff it's leaving straight so I don't have to go back and touch up even with a one coat of paint and it's going to be just a frustrating process that's going to make painting not enjoyable all right now I'm going to take a real brush a 20 brush and I would say this is a really good cutting brush so this is um abrupt from Premiere so you can see how fast I can go back my brush Point I've got a nice point I was able to fix all that stuff really fast it's coming to a nice point it's not leaving any white streaks underneath because it's soft enough to allow the paint to cover so I can fix all this stuff so my ceiling line doesn't look terrible okay now I'm gonna go up here and fix those cut ends with the dollar brush now you're going to see the difference with the professional brush I'm gonna get this thing up here the first thing you're going to see is how far I can actually draw a line and I can actually draw a straight line the brush is still holding paint still laying out paint easy manipulate the tip of the brush let's see how far that line just the way I could come back of the way just lightly hold the brush it's drawn the line on its own perfect line right there on a really difficult service to pay I'm going to just lay it out it's leaving no white streaks underneath just like that I'll show you one more time you come to the end what it looks like comparison let's put it with a once again this is a three inch the other the dollar store brushless three inch flat this is three inch angled get it up there get in position hold your breath hold your arms steady draw your line so there it was put the dollar store brush to the test grab that brush show you the difference between the two brushes real quick here so here's here's my Dollar Store brush here's my Brook professional brush length of filaments obviously they're going to save a lot of money by cutting the filaments down there's not as many filaments in there they're really cheap filaments don't hold paint don't lay out paint the ends of it is really rough and Jagged so that's what's making it challenging to actually cut in a line but it's just it's going to make the process really difficult for you very frustrating for you and it's going to take you a lot longer so you spend twenty dollars for a brush versus a dollar for a brush and you're going to make up that amount of money you know just in one day painting just an entire day painting this brush it's not even worth cleaning you're throwing away this brush this Brook from Premiere it could last you a lifetime if you take care of it properly invest in the tools painting is not going to be this experience that's frustrating for you that takes a long time if you're using the proper tools
