Delinting the Roller Cover

What happens here

New roller covers often come with loose fibers or lint that can adhere to the paint and then transfer to the wall, resulting in an uneven or fuzzy appearance. To prevent this, take a roll of painter's tape (preferably 1.5-inch wide) and wrap it around the entire surface of the roller cover, ensuring the adhesive side is in contact with the nap. Press firmly, then slowly peel the tape off. The adhesive on the tape will pull off any loose lint or fibers. Repeat this process until no more lint comes off. Alternatively, you can pre-wet and clean the roller cover by taking it outside and washing it in a bucket of water, which will also help fluff up the nap and remove loose debris.
