What happens here

Start by meticulously applying a continuous strip of orange painter's tape around the entire inner edge of the cabinet opening. Ensure the tape adheres firmly to the wood frame, creating a clean, crisp line that will serve as the barrier against paint. Press down firmly on the tape to prevent any paint bleed-through. The goal is to define the area to be protected.
