What happens here

Mount the low-voltage landscape lighting transformer to a sturdy surface near your outdoor GFCI-protected electrical outlet. Connect the main low-voltage cable from all your lights to the output terminals on the transformer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the connections are tight and secure. Finally, plug the transformer into the GFCI outlet. For bistro lights that use standard household voltage, ensure their plug is also connected to a separate GFCI-protected outdoor outlet, if not integrated into the low-voltage system.

Goal: Mount the transformer and connect it to the low-voltage wiring and a GFCI power source.

Tools and materials

  • GFCI-Protected Outdoor Electrical Outlet — Providing safe power to the transformer and high-voltage bistro lights
  • Low-Voltage Landscape Lighting Wire — Connecting to the transformer's output terminals
