What happens here

With all utility lines and conduits securely in place, carefully begin the backfilling process by gradually pushing the excavated soil back into the trench. Utilize a skid steer, excavator, or shovels to deposit the soil, taking care to avoid dropping large rocks or debris directly onto the installed conduits, which could cause damage. For optimal results and to facilitate proper compaction, backfill the trench in manageable layers, typically 6-12 inches at a time, rather than attempting to fill the entire trench in one go. This layered approach significantly reduces the likelihood of future ground settling.

Goal: Return soil to the trench, covering the installed utility lines.
