Could I have done this with just my hand? Yeah probably. But where’s the fun in that?!

What happens here

Once the screw is mostly driven by the drill, switch to a hammer. Gently tap the head of the screw a few times to fully seat it into the wood. This tapping action helps to fully embed the screw head, compress any wood fibers around it, and achieve a perfectly flush or slightly countersunk finish without relying solely on the drill's torque. This can be particularly useful for preventing splintering on the wood surface or for screws that are prone to stripping when over-torqued.

Goal: Achieve a flush or slightly countersunk screw head.
