What happens here

Numerous deck joists, identified as 'Pro Wood' pressure-treated lumber, are installed. They run from the ledger board to the beams, typically spaced at regular intervals such as 16 inches on center. The joists are connected to the ledger board using metal joist hangers, which are nailed or screwed into place. At the beam end, joists are often face-nailed or toed-nailed, and sometimes secured with hurricane ties or similar metal connectors for enhanced wind and uplift resistance. This forms the flat, sturdy sub-structure for the deck surface.

Goal: Deck joists are systematically installed perpendicular to the ledger board and beams, forming the surface upon which the decking will be laid.
