What happens here
Long horizontal beams, made from pressure-treated lumber, are carefully lifted into place and positioned on top of the previously installed vertical support posts. Workers ensure the beams are level and aligned correctly before fastening them. These beams act as key load-bearing components, distributing the weight of the deck and its occupants to the posts and ultimately to the footings. Fastening often involves structural screws, bolts, or specialized metal connectors (e.g., post-to-beam connectors).
Goal: Horizontal beams are lifted and secured atop the support posts, creating the main horizontal framework that will carry the deck joists.
