[Applause] [Music] this is paint live tv i'm christy idaho painter in this video i'm going to be uh testing out a product that i've got a few of um i was sent them to me and i've seen them out there it's these little caulking tubes that are reusable caulking tubes that have different fittings on them to caulk so you don't have to use your fingers it just lays out the caulking you can close it right up and reuse it again and you just squeeze the caulking out of the tube it has something that reseals it and away you go i've got two of them i've got an interior fast dry one and then i've got an interior exterior one right here and the fast dry one you'd be able to paint over it faster because it dries faster so the way these things work it just has a little pull tab on it you just pull this little tab off and then you screw this and this is what kind of activates it or punches the hole in it so the caulking starts to come out right there it does have a little seal on it this is what you reseal it with right here so you can use it again on a later day so once you take that off you squeeze it and your caulking starts to come out so this you're gonna set it aside i'm gonna choose what size caulking um tip i want you know according to you know my um basically the surface i'm going to be caulking i think i've got a fairly rounded surface so i'm going to want to use the larger fitting right here and now i'm just going to start squeezing and laying out at the same time so i'm just going to squeeze and lay out my caulking so it's not working so good maybe it takes practice but left just like a trailing edge everywhere so this is supposed to be acting as my finger and it's not acting as my finger so well so i got to use my finger right there um so i could try you know i'll try a different tip size so i'm going to flip it over try a little bit um that's too sharp we're going to try this size right here i can flip it over and now start to use it i'm not sure like really i mean your finger pad works extremely well and the reason why your finger pad works well is you have nerves in your fingers and you can feel um the ups and downs you can feel how much pressure you need to put on it you can feel uh ridges highs and lows and you have that human element where you can put more pressure or less pressure to get the basically the perfect beat and that's what's important this is a sharp device it's limited it's only going to put caulking on uh where the device wants to put it on and it's a matter of you got to keep consistent pressure squeezing and that's really key that's that's worse than the last one um the consistency of the caulking i got this one is um uh here i'll just um put this aside right there not the most ideal place to put caulking but this one is an interior a fast rise so it's going to be a little bit thicker caulking so i'm going to squeeze and apply squeeze so just skip the spot it's still got that's laying man i've kind of like i'm getting pumped up here i'm getting a workout because i gotta squeeze so hard to get it out but it's missing spots all over and you know i'm there's a lot of there's other little like tools out there caulking tools to lay out your caulking i just don't understand you know uh why you would use a tool like that because it just once again your finger pads and you can once you get good you can literally use all your finger pads so i can i can apply caulking and i can use you know a middle finger a side finger i can use this finger i can use that finger i've got multiple fingers i can smooth my caulking out so i got a really nice bead of caulking right there so you know maybe it just takes a little bit of time and effort learning how to use it um but once again i'm not sure like a caulking tube just go getting right back to old-school caulking i mean the caulking that stays usable inside this tube it doesn't dry out unless it's a 100 silicone it will as soon as you cut the tip open but the old school caulking gun you can cut it at any angle you want according to the bead you want i can trim it and re-trim it if i need to but i usually typically cut it at a 45 degree angle and apply my caulking and i've been talking for 20 some years and i'm a firm believer and your fingers for caulking they will allow you to get a professional looking bead this is just going to cause me more frustration than it's even worth is it you do it yourself um item i would prefer even a do-it-yourselfer just going old school using i mean you know whether that's old school or newer school this is kind of like new school caulking gun ergonomic easy trigger pull caulking gun right there and i just think as a professional painter as a do-it-yourselfer you're going to get superior results with a caulking and not trying to use um some little gimmicky tool like this so there's my opinion from the idaho painter right here on paint life tv so there you have it subscribe and notify if you want to see more tool reviews right here on paint live tv if you've used these things if you got any experience with them uh if i'm not using them right tonight you'll hear that quite a bit when i do read views or not quite a bit i hear it you know every now and then hey you're not using it right so if i'm not using it right or if i just need to practice you know more days let me know down in the comment section below we would love to know what your thoughts on are about the ease i guess i don't even the um easy caulking tubes i guess they actually even have them with um drywall compound in them for filling holes so there you have it hit the subscribe button hit the notification bell that way you get notified next time i come out with a new video and like we always say we'll see you next time [Music] you
