Best sander for cabinet repaints. Cabinet painting tips.

[Music] this paint live tv i'm christy idaho painter in this video i'm going to give you a tip or a trick when it comes to painting cabinet doors and getting that ultra fine finish now i'm going to be standing here at my inspection table i'm going to be sanding the cabinet door with my echo sand 3x4 sander and then after i'm done this is a vacuum system so it vacuums up as it sands but it doesn't vacuum up 100 you want to get every little bit of dust off this door before spraying it so i'm going to be sanding it you see what it looks like when i'm sanding i'm using to get profiled edges and stuff a half inch open cell sponge to sand with if i got any shaker style doors that has an edge on it that i don't want my sander hitting and marking up i'm going to use a closed cell sponge even five millimeter 10 millimeter [Music] if i want to do any flat sanding i'm just going to be using film tech plastic film to sand flat surfaces [Music] once i'm done sanding the sander picks up most of the dust but there's gonna be stuff down in the pores and stuff and it's really good to vacuum that off i like using a horse hair vacuum tip right here to vacuum with any other type of vacuum like the ones that are black they'll have a tendency to mark or mar or scratch the surface horse hair is nice and soft and now i can do my final vacuum before spraying i'm not going to get any of that dust in my coating now my door is ready for spraying as you can see i also vacuumed off my table right here now i'm gonna do my next door this one's all ready to spray now the vacuum or the sand or hooked up to the vacuum does a pretty dang good job keeping a dust free environment but you do get you know some dust down in those pores in those cracks that that type of vacuum system does not get out that's why it's really important to vacuum with a secondary source or use a blow-off tool right before you go to spray now i got an hvop sprayer that i use a blow-off tool that i'll blow it off also that's another option but this right here at my inspection table i got a bosch battery operated vacuum and this system works absolutely amazing so if you haven't subscribed to our channel hit the subscribe button hit the notification bell that way you get notified every time i come out with a new video it's free simple and easy to do for the last 12 years it's never cost a dime to subscribe we don't market to you when you subscribe neither does youtube it's just a simple way to send you an email every time i come out with a new tip or trick right here on paint live tv and it's a simple way to help support making these free videos for the last 12 years in the next 12 years to come subscribe notify we'll see you on our next video out
