Caulking with Backer Rod

What happens here

Apply a steady, even bead of caulk into the prepared joints. Work in sections that you can tool quickly before the caulk begins to skin over. Immediately after applying a section, use the damp, caulk-primed sponge to smooth the bead. Run the sponge along the caulk to press it into the joint and create a clean, angled, and watertight seal. Regularly clean the sponge in the bucket of water by squeezing out excess caulk and re-dampening it, as demonstrated in the video. Repeat this process for all seams around the egress window until fully sealed.

Goal: Achieve a watertight and aesthetically pleasing caulk joint.
