Caterpillar 289D vs ASV 75- Battle of the 74 hp skid steers

What happens here

The hosts delve into the critical role of local dealer service. They both agree that an excellent dealer can outweigh slight performance differences between machines. Travis states he would buy an inferior machine if it came with superior dealer support. They discuss that while CAT has a wider service network, ASV's use of Cummins engines allows for alternative service points. The conversation then shifts to track performance, where Travis emphasizes ASV's superior track system for Florida's soft ground, citing past experiences of getting stuck with other machines.

Goal: Evaluate the importance of dealer support and specific machine features like tracks and engine brands.

this is Rob's yeah so with that being said also I want you to consider the service cat does kill every other company out there for their service but here's the thing guys you're paying for that service but in reality what it boils down to is what is your local dealer like is your local ASV dude the most awesome dude in the world or is it your caterpillar guy because that's the guy that you're gonna be going belly-to-belly face to face with every time you have an issue and if that guy has your back that's what matters the most and if that guy doesn't have your back go to somebody else even if you love that brand the one thing though that when you buy a machine is always goes down to the dealer I'll buy an inferior machine if it has a superior dealer bill and I just literally said the exact same thing yeah and so I'm interviewing Travis completely separate because I don't even want these two to even listen over each other's shoulders so we they don't have a dealer's got your back and can keep you going that's difference between finishing a job on Friday and getting paid and not it's a big deal that's the big it's a big deal right there I think that and so so I went with a sv on this time because I thought smaller dealer smaller brands I'm a small company I'm not a road company like I don't have 90 machines yep so I figured well I'll go ASV because I might get that personal service yeah but but the thing about our local cat dealer here is that when we get a bill from our cat dealer we're just like how much is that but like it's crazy I know it's ten times what we thought it was gonna be right I said by Zach I mean it's ten times what we thought was gonna be like we get a bill for like three grand really I thought it was like their hair box you know what I mean yeah but but they've got if I need a machine like hey guys I got a job it's starting like we're gonna try to squeeze in tomorrow and they're like we'll run your machine now you know what I mean like they're just like hey can I rent two three twelve they're like done I'll be there at lunch you know I mean like it's just like happens and so if I was a big contractor at big deadlines I'd be like who cares if that bills an extra two grand like yeah you don't be buying a cat so you brand both ASV you own an ASV on an ASB 120 you own a cat you owned both I hear something I noticed running the ASB brick and smoke the cat yes smoked in every way shape before even whether that whether it has like 2,000 pounds…
