[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you put a camera in our face and most of us pretty much suck but that doesn't mean you do bad work it just means you suck when you get in front of a camera but if you stick a time-lapse up in the corner of one of your job sites it shows a potential customer the before during and after it speaks everything that you can't do in front of a camera your work speaks for itself that's why I'm making this video because a lot of guys do fabulous work and they don't know how to show their customers problem is most time-lapse cameras suck if they didn't you guys would see a heck of a lot more time lapse in my videos but I've tried using my iPhone it just doesn't work GoPro fabulous footage battery lasts about two hours that means I get two hours a time lapse on my job site and most of my jobs guys take two or three days so that doesn't work the only really good time lapses that are out there cost thousands of dollars but there's a new camera that I'm experimenting with and it's got some great features and it's got some not-so-great features and so today we're going to I'm going to show you all of it so let's just do this and the footage that you are looking at in these time lapses is actual footage from this camera it's insane how much quality is in the footage of this camera so guys I want you to meet Josh Josh owns what does the Navy time-lapse cameras calm time-lapse cameras calm and the reason I asked Josh to come here he comes from Rochester you are a professional photographer yep you got started because you saw a need in the market for a good time lapse camera the two most popular methods for guys to kind of get their ideas or their jobs inside their time lapse and drone and between the two of them I'm going to say that a time lapse is fundamentally more important to your customers now if you want to be a YouTube superstar then you're gonna need to use both but if you are a contractor and you want to show customers how you work from start to finish because that's what a customer is absolutely most interested in time lapse I think is more important time ice is the way to go to starters to show a project from start to finish but one of the problems is when a contractor when you use this to do your time lapse it either sucks or it rings or you get text messages or you buy a separate one of these and the battery goes that I've tried you guys you maybe have noticed I don't do a lot of time lapse in my videos because I have not found and GoPro is fundamentally unreliable every GoPro I've ever used and screwed me over at some way shape or form go for it got the battery life issues - okay so what is this called joshiya fitness ATL 200 so long-term time lapse camera tell me about this camera if you don't mind cuz it I don't know anything about this camera but I know that time lapse to me is and to you guys is insanely important so you've got long-term battery life we're talking many hours weeks months depending on your capture okay so wait a minute you can't tell me that I could set this out on a job site and work on a project for a week solid and that this I don't never have to charge this battery up so you can set this up and 45 days later like if I'm building this house yep if I come in and day 44 it'll still be doing time okay how easy is this for the average guy to figure out and operate nicely but this one it's all Wi-Fi in Africa okay so it's a matter of turning the camera on it beeps and then you pull out the app on your phone so green means call green means go okay you what's the name of the app app it is so I'm looking for the fittest Network here I'm tapping on the fittest network so it's connecting to the camera says it's connected I flipped to the app and then there's the preview okay so you can actually see what you're gonna be shooting on your phone yep you can you go wide screen and the amazing feature about this camera is that you've got the ability to zoom optical zoom autofocus and manual focus so if you're changing that tire but you can then pinch to them let me set this on here yeah we got a tripod sitting right there let's use it does this actually have a tripod holder on them yep quarter-twenty on the bottom so let's get the same holder that's running my camera right now right we can turn the time stamp off we can customize the time stamp within the settings but we simply set our capture interval so if you want to capture say every this is so easy even I could figure this out so if you want to capture every 5 seconds which might what do you recommend well it depends on the job if you're doing a job that's one day long you might be down at 5 or 10 seconds and if you're doing a job that's a week long you might be in a minute a minute would give you 90 seconds of footage for a week how much footage would a one day job one day job captures every 10 seconds characters every time how much footage are you gonna get out of that probably about a minute and a half and there are calculators that tell you exactly how to do that ok you know how many hours your project is and in fact a calculator I think is coming to be built into the app here and then one of the next version so that'll be really nice to have and is that in the fitness app no this is the official sample yeah okay these guys and me have never touched a time-lapse camera before other than our phones prep walk us through the basic steps what do we got to do how do we do this thing we want to be successful we're not photographers we're not videographers right we want something that we can go and show a customer down the road what do we do well you get yourself a camera and you saw how easily the only thing different that I did that you would do is you have to install the head all right this is it this is like just a brand new camera right you know you might check to see if the quality is on high or one you always want to go 1080p yeah which is a big big change in long-term time life so all the previous cameras like I said earlier have been 720 so yeah people have been waiting for a 1080 camera for a long time the lighting is important the nice thing about this camera also that it has a high dynamic range sensor do they have to worry as much about the lighting them because the lighting is gonna be changing that's launching weights when the Sun gets into the frame it becomes a distraction you know what the front of house is facing south so you can't avoid that it's on and this will compensate for it this will be very well compensated for yeah all right you guys have been playing with the GoPro Hero 7 time-lapse about the same time that I started playing around with this Ophidian time-lapse and here's the main differences the GoPro Hero 7 has amazing footage just like the Ophidian but the GoPro Hero 7s battery has lasted me about two hours maximum and then the camera just shuts off and I can't get any more footage out of it after that [Music] also the GoPro Hero 7 has a very limited amount of zoom that it can go in and out and later on in this video you're going to see just how much zoom the macro zoom capabilities of this Ophidian are but here's the drawbacks to the Ophidian for one the app itself is really freaking weird right it's got like a smiley face and you punch that and that's like the time interval I have no there's absolutely no correlation between what the symbols on the app means and what the camera itself will do so you're gonna be muddling through this thing trying to figure out what the what the smiley face means and what this weird sunshine symbol means I don't know it's like people in Japan made all this up would think these are universal I don't get that part at all actually once you start to understand what those bizarre symbols mean you the Phidias has a ton of capabilities that I'm yet to explore here's another drawback to the Ophidian you're not gonna be able to go on Amazon and pick one up and they're not gonna be for sale at the store I think Josh with time-lapse cameras is going to be the only person bringing them in and he's only bringing in the limited quantity so if you want to get one you better go over there an order one and tell them the dirt monkey sent you because maybe that'll help you get on the list cuz I'm gonna guess there's gonna be a few people that want them besides just you I'm gonna see who's calling so it's got a camera mount right here which means you can set it on a tripod like you have here you can secure it into place use one of the resistance as it is angled wait a minute how weather resistant is it IP 64 so that's almost like you can dunk it underwater ah you know knots mostly right technically you're not supposed to but there's it's right up there it does have a motion sensor here so it doubles as a surveillance or security camera as well okay I should probably set this up and we should just have a time-lapse going right now I'm Frankie and you know so with the demonstration I'm just going to do a one-second interval so there's the cameras antique every Franco we're for anyone's a second I'm a hit record gives me a interval and the kind of confirmation I hit okay double beep confirmation it's recording so now this is blinking green every five seconds but you know that the cameras still running you just walk away so I'm gonna play around with this two guys you're gonna see me I'm gonna give you updates on Instagram on this you're gonna see watch my videos anytime you see a time-lapse the only time lapse you're ever going to see is gonna come from this because I've never done time lamps successfully before Frankie what should we time-lapse we often think we should time-lapse for this video you doing me would use this thing so yeah I mean just so many different things to that I can't wait for me it's gonna be more you know it is isn't it freaking freaking I got projects to do he's got me holding cameras now you can you know I was gonna have you set that time-lapse up right yeah let's below this video for more information on this camera we built a website dedicated to this camera at a fitness camp calm okay so perfect that's got all the bells and whistles and example videos and all the feature set right there for everybody see oh and all the video is video that we shot down in Rochester has not been provided or supplied I think this is a great content creation tool the cameras here we're on this we're about what an inch and a half away look how sharp that is you're watching this on my phone my Canon ATD isn't even its sharp in real life as that is right now and that that camera concentrating this is low-light guys this is about a scrappy yellow light sun setting on the side it's freakin dark all the way around the worst lighting I would never feel my video and that's where I would be from I would not be filming but when we go to this camera is focusing on there this is what it looks like that's how much it's constant feeding that's insane you couldn't do this with an action camera or any point and shoot camera you do have to get 100 millimeter macro lens on that camera and we're gonna be able to do this instead of macro less you like my canon a TD won't do that it will not okay well actually you know what screw it we're gonna do it let's go right next to the camera now I'm gonna try to get the same shot with my Canon a TD you guys can see it on the big screen right there I'm gonna do the same thing imma try to get as close as I can with my Canon you're gonna see what that looks like right now this is my Canon just with my typical lens come on canon come on canon a TD this is what it's get literally guys this is what my Canon Addl do here we go that's about as good as it'll get and I'm not manually focusing or messing with the ice or anything like that because that's all I did with this I literally stuck in this up there not even straight with it and just hit the gold button and that's what it gave me that's some quality that would be full 1080 and if you replaced it with there's that watch face I can literally see it better on my phone than I can in real life and I'm hand holding it yeah that's some quality dude Wow this little cameras amazing Wow okay Wow hey I think I hate this camera which one yours look at that okay so now we just propped the camera up in the corner so it's right there and look at how this looks here it is on my phone so that's the quality that's that's good quality now here's what its gonna look like like $1500 canon camera here it is and I can't get nearly as why I got a wide-angle lens actually I'm you know I'm gonna go pop the wide angle lens on cuz then I'll ever totally wide it out right now and here's what that camera is making it look like way better it's just picking up a lot more lady pick it up from the wall to the other corner I got to get my other lens on alright we're gonna do this right I'm putting my wide angle lens on next all right you guys we're gonna actually switch to my wide-angle lens and show you the same shot okay so now here's what it looks like with my my $1500 camera with the wide-angle lens on and you can see that so I'm gonna show you right here what it actually looks like overall gives you a better scope and I think it's better quality than my expensive camera to be honest with you and now I'm recording and that's a pretty accurate reflection I'm actually recording with my expensive camera my actual phone what it looks like on my phone if you guys think I'm doing this cuz it's a give me it's not I'm buying it alright Josh alright man thank you thank you alright if I was gonna give you any last words of advice a drone or a time-lapse for a practical camera that's going to help you sell more job somewhere projects it's a time-lapse you can use the drone supplementally if you need those beautiful gorgeous shots and then you're gonna combine the two things but if you just regular working dude you're gonna go with the time-lapse cuz that's gonna help you some more make sure you check out these videos right here god bless you guys and go get them thank you very much you
