Can you guess why concrete footings wouldn’t work here?

What happens here

After the extension is securely attached, the hydraulic auger drive head is repositioned onto the top of the extended helical pile. The operator then re-engages the drive mechanism, continuing to rotate and screw the now longer helical pile deeper into the ground. This process continues until the pile reaches its predetermined design depth or achieves the required torque, indicating adequate load-bearing capacity as per engineering specifications.

Goal: Complete the installation of the helical pile to the required depth and torque.

Tools and materials

  • Excavator — Operating the hydraulic auger drive head to continue driving the pile
  • Helical Pile — The final foundation support structure being installed
  • Hydraulic Auger Drive Head — Rotating the extended helical pile into the ground
