Calling all Mechanics... Cummins Truck Transmission problems!

What happens here

After the old hold-down is removed and the battery cables are disconnected, thoroughly clean any existing corrosion from the battery tray and the terminal cables. Apply a specialized battery cleaner spray, such as 'Lynx East Penn Battery Cleaner,' to the corroded areas. Observe the cleaner as it foams and changes color, indicating that it is neutralizing the battery acid. After the foaming subsides, rinse the area with clean water using a hose. Finally, use a wire brush to scrub off any remaining corrosion from the battery terminal clamps and cable ends to ensure clean, conductive surfaces for reconnection.

Goal: Remove all existing corrosion from the battery compartment and cables.
