Building The Premier Dream Shop - Part 2 Building Walls and Setting Trusses

What happens here

Once a roof truss is accurately positioned on the top plates by the telehandler, workers quickly secure it using metal hurricane ties, nailing them to the top plate and the truss chords. For temporary stability between trusses, additional lumber pieces (scabs) are nailed diagonally between adjacent trusses, connecting their top chords to ensure proper spacing and prevent racking. This temporary bracing is essential to maintain the structural integrity of the roof system until the sheathing is installed. The presenter explains that after learning from the first truss, the remaining trusses were installed more efficiently.

Goal: Permanently fasten roof trusses and brace them for stability.
