Building The Premier Dream Shop - Part 2 Building Walls and Setting Trusses

What happens here

Multiple crew members collaboratively carry a prefabricated wall panel (labeled 'TALLWALL') from the delivery stack to its marked position on the concrete slab. They carefully lift the panel and stand it upright onto the sill sealer. Once upright, the workers precisely adjust its position to align with the chalk lines. The wall panel is then secured to the concrete slab by drilling through the bottom plate and driving tapcon screws into the concrete using a hammer drill. Temporary diagonal lumber braces are installed, attaching one end to the wall panel and the other to the ground, to hold the wall plumb and prevent it from falling until permanent connections are made.

Goal: Stand and temporarily secure the prefabricated wall panels.

Tools and materials

  • Cordless Drill/Impact Driver DeWalt — Driving screws for temporary bracing
  • Hammer Drill DeWalt — Drilling pilot holes into the concrete slab for anchors
  • Level — Ensuring the walls are perfectly plumb
  • Prefabricated Wall Panels TRUSS TRAX — The main structural components being erected
  • Tapcon Screws — Securing the bottom plate of the wall panels to the concrete
  • Temporary Lumber Braces — Supporting the erected walls to keep them plumb and stable
  • Sill Sealer — Placed under the wall panels as a moisture barrier
