Building A MASSIVE Deck Part 3 - Roof Framing and Sheathing
What happens here
The custom-cut rafters are installed onto the ledger board and the main support beam. This is a team effort, with one worker securing the rafter to the ledger board on the house side using a nail gun, and another worker positioning and securing the rafter to the main beam. The 'reverse bird's mouth' cut allows the rafter to sit flush, providing a strong connection and preparing for the fascia board. Each rafter is installed systematically, ensuring proper spacing and alignment to create the desired roof pitch.
Goal: Securely attach all rafters to form the roof structure.
