BRICK Makeover --- Simple Steps Painting Brick & Stone

What happens here

The video begins by introducing the concept of using solid color masonry stains for stone walls, highlighting their 'magic' compared to traditional paint. It explains that paint and primer can eventually fail and peel, especially with moisture issues. In contrast, penetrating stains absorb into the brick or stone, rather than creating a surface film, which prevents peeling and allows the material to breathe. The hosts show an example of an orange brick wall being transformed into a modern gray color using this method.

and John and I'm Chris yaho painter and on this video we are talking about the magic of solid color masonry stains where guys go wrong with something like this is when they just start painting it or even to in my opinion priming it and painting it because the paint eventually is going to fail it's going to peel and that's where people get into trouble especially when you got issues with moisture water getting back and forth thus we always use a stain and a solid color stain we're using right here it's going to absorb into the brick it's not going to create a top coat on the brick that could peel so you can see right here we got this orange brick and it's a very dated look and they wanted it to be gray which is a very new and upto-date look so we're using a solid color stain
