Brian Keselowski’s Vintage Dodge Ram NASCAR Truck Resurrection! Reunited After 18 Years

What happens here

The B-post and A-post of the truck are discussed, highlighting that they were custom-fabricated by cutting original truck B-posts in half and reshaping them. The roof, however, is an original factory stamping. The discussion also touches on the mid-2000s rule changes that allowed teams to narrow the truck roofs, requiring complex modifications to the bodywork to enhance aerodynamics.

Goal: Examine the fabrication of B-posts and the impact of roof narrowing regulations.

truck cuz you can see how it's a little shaped different through here. And then what we did is we cut two BS in half and made the front half out of the rear half. >> Oh. >> And then once we kind of got into that, that was probably 95 67 right in there. Then they started making stampings. So this is actual stamping. This is not an original like street Bost, but it's all copied based off of that. But it is the original roofs. Uh I think we had to make our own Apost which was really kind of easy. It just seamemed in right up in here and here and you just rolled it. It was a fairly easy piece to make. This was previous to both the common body in 2004 and then sometime about mid 2000 they allowed us to narrow the roofs up. So we cut the roofs into four pieces and narrowed the whole roofs up in about mid 2000, but this was previous to that. So this was still the original big Apost Bost roof from the Dodge stuff. This is how it came. >> Interesting. So that's the kind of stuff I'm real interested in to see how these things were actually constructed. >> So that year I actually came off the road and started racing myself. This was the first year I raced and I worked on the engineering team. So we did a lot of that development on the engineering team
