Sand and Apply Second Coat

BEHR Stain & Poly Review | Does this stuff actually work?
What happens here
After the first coat has dried (which may be less than an hour, as observed by the presenter), lightly sand the entire surface of the shelf again with the 150-grit Ecodiamond sanding sponge. This helps to smooth out any raised grain from the first coat and ensures proper adhesion for the subsequent coat. Once sanded, apply a second coat of the stain and poly using the same techniques as the first: apply a nice, heavy coat, working it into the grain, and then 'lay it out' or 'tip it off' with long, even strokes to remove brush marks and ensure a smooth, uniform finish. Allow this second coat to dry completely.
Goal: Achieve a smooth, rich, and protected finish with a second coat.
