What happens here
This video demonstrates and compares three different methods for hanging cabinet doors for painting, primarily focusing on systems compatible with the PaintLine PSDR system. It covers the traditional 'old school' method using drilled holes, the EFC Hinge Hook style, and a newer 'fish hook' style. The video includes practical demonstrations and a real-world durability test of the different hanger types, concluding with a comparison of their effectiveness for painting all surfaces of cabinet doors.

(5,804 characters)all right so I want to show you a couple methods that you can actually hang doors and spray from the paint lines psdr here's my old school method I just drill 36 in holes I use a template that kind of measures it out the distance for the paint Lin's metal hangers which is the best hangers I've ever used extremely durable a way that you can do your cabinet doors all four edges in both sides all at once I know there are um people out there that do not like to uh drill holes in their cabinet doors I always drill it in the bottom on bottom uh doors so you can't see them um on the top on top do so you can't see the top either so here's the EFC Hing hook style a different way to hang your doors right here EFC H trook just spring loaded kind of there's no spring but you just squeeze them together and um it holds in there with tension now I can hang it right on my hanger and it hangs on there no need to drill holes in the top so this is one method I've use these hooks you know multiple times they do function pretty well you do got to be really careful um spinning too fast because they're not um you know kind of poking in the wood they're kind of just like with a little bit of tension holding them in there so I've actually had a couple doors you know fall off in the past if the door is heavy enough it could a break but this is one style that a lot of people are using it is called the EF EFC hinge hook now I'm going to show you a different style hinge hook that is fairly new and it's just based after a simple fish hook and so it looks kind of like a fish hook it's shaped just like if you bass fish just like um a Texas Rig but it's super sharp so it's actually going to poke into the wood it'll poke into the wood and because it actually pokes into the wood it actually holds on and grips pretty dang um pretty dang good so I'm just going to take poke it in hang it up and there you go so another style hinge hook that actually pokes into the wood and in theory it's going to grip onto the wood you know a lot better now you can see um I'm twisting balancing that it's poked in hanging on pretty darn good now I'm going to do something that you know uh you typically wouldn't be doing you know when you're spraying your doors but we're going to see like you know how much force it will take for that thing to actually uh come off so I'm going to bounce it around it's actually that's pretty impressive so that actually took quite a bit you're not going be doing that in you know when you're spraying um cabinet doors so so I think it it's um you know just the fact that that thing is as sharp as the fish hook because you know one thing I found out it's actually a major manufacturer of fish hooks that manufactures the style of hooks so you know if you've used the EFC hinge hooks here's a new option if you haven't used either one of them you know EFC style um Fish Hook style um I'm still you know um I'm going to still do it my way and that is using um cup hooks so now we're just going to do just basically a real world test because we don't want to you know show you know these um hooks just failing and stuff because you know that's not necessarily you know what people are going to be doing they're not going to be yanking and twisting on these things your real world I'm going to spin it spray this side spin it spray that edge spin it spray that Edge then I'll spin it back and spray that side spin it spin it spin it spin it that's kind of real world what you're going to see you know if I'm actually you know spraying these doors so I'm going to spray this side spin it spray the other side spin it spray that side let spray top and bottom somebody that's going really fast spin spray it spin it spray it you see that that hook is not coming out at all I would say you that is a success you know with that style hook if you're going to use the um Fish Hook style hinge hook I mean that's a great option now I know um thousands of people are using the the EFC style Hooks and the reason why they're using them is because they work and I got to say you know I've used them in the past and they definitely work for me and there are times when you have to use them with coupled with wave hangers for doors with wide um hinges so real world this is what it's going to look like going to put our door on there I'm going to make sure it's set now I'm going to spray the door spray one side spray another side spray that edge spray that edge and I'm done spray one side spray another side spray that edge spray that edge and I'm done so you can see it's actually working somebody that's trying to work maybe too fast spray one side spin it spray another side spin it spray the other side spin it staying in there not an issue the heavier the door the larger the door you know more likely you know it could pop out cuz it's create more force on the hinge um on the hinge hook uh but you know kind of a standard St cabinet door both of them are absolutely um working just fine comes off just squeeze it comes off just like that last method um you see me use this method over and over again and um not necessarily better it's just another way all three of these are um equally good methods and you just got to decide what method works for you spin it one side spin it another side spin it one Edge spin it another Edge there you go Do's down some of it's working a little bit faster spin one side spin it spin it spin it do all edges you can see all three of them function equally well when using it in a real world case hinge hooks EFC hinge hooks cup hooks what do you like better leave it down in the com comment section below we want to know what you have to say so there you have it um you just discussing and you know showing you some options of how to spray doors um hanging whoa
