(10,417 characters)what are you doing boy it's two Tuesday what you doing you want to sit sit give me the left give me that left give me that right oh yeah now go get that posum go get the posum guys welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm Channel I'm Josh and this is tool Tuesday here on the Stony Ridge Farm I'm going to tease you a little bit for maybe next week's tool Tuesday so you'll subscribe to the channel and hit that like button we've got some Milwaukee Gear that's going to be coming out in the next couple weeks we'll show you that tool review soon last week and this time of year I'm always thinking about backup Power Solutions so last week we did a video from Northern Tool we checked out a cool new generator with 14,000 surge watts and 12,000 continuous watts to run this big Mega shop building here and this is the Mega shop it's a mess inside so today what we're going to be featuring is another backup power system a different backup power system this is called the Ops Mega 5 right there it is right there is the gear right there's my drill this is my messy shop and here are the solar panels so this has two 240 W solar panels come along tool Tuesday we're going to show you some cool stuff here on the Stony Ridge woo Stony Ridge Farm welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm Channel if this is your first time your 50 millionth time please hit that like button subscribe the channel I bring you everything this is rural lifestyle content at its best and prepper content and off- grid content and cars and trucks and tools of stuff so here's what we have this is the oops or oops I don't know exactly how to say it Mega 5 and I've got it pulled up on my phone because I simply can't memorize every single thing about this I've got several of these battery Banks running my freezers and this is backup power in case the power goes out or uninterrupted power power for computers and sensitive equipment and refrigerators and freezers so if you don't know what we do here we're 150 acre first generation Farm settled here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and we need backup power we need backup power because we have anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 lounds of beef in our freezers here for sale eventually uh out here on the W worldwide web so this is again the Ops Mega 5 I'll post a link down the video description I've reached out to these guys to see if they'll give us a coupon code if they will I'll post it there too I think they're going to do it so without further Ado let's talk a little bit about this this is the unit that is the again Ops Mega 5 I'll post a link to it in the video description it'll be down there in my Amazon store the mega 5 with two 240 W solar panels we'll take you out and show you those solar panels here in just a second so we've got some pretty cool stuff going on here guys this has been charged solely on solar since I got it this has charged my electric tractor so it's 4,000 watts and it is what is it 5,040 wat hours I don't know Watt hours from Watts but I know that it stores a ton of power and it has enough to charge the electric tractor that I have here on the farm which is something super cool it also has a plug in the back for charging your EV so if you're going on an extended trip with an electric vehicle you can take this along as a little bit of extra battery you don't have to stop at a charging station that's pretty cool so without further Ado let's just kind of get you guys a little bit of a closeup and right now it's still charging it's charging all of my battery powered gear I've got a bunch of Milwaukee stuff some DeWalt stuff some husqavarna steel Echo all kinds of battery powered gear and I don't like plugging it in I don't like wasting money and this is saving me money so let's walk through this real quick and show you exactly what we have got going here so for those of you who live the RV life this is important a 30 amp 12volt plug right there for your RV you can plug it right into I'm told into your RV 12volt box and you don't have to waste power with the inverter built into your RV we've got a 60 W and another 60 W USBC 5vt 2 Amp a QC 3.0 regular USB ports right here for charging you hit that button turns on your DC power you can see it right here it says DC power on USBC power on let me hit that one more time pops up right there can't really see this it kind of pulses as we look at it on the camera this is your power button turns it on and off this is your AC power and it's running right now 60 HZ 120 volt pure sine wave that's what it's all about guys if you don't do pure sine wave and you have sensitive electronics and sensitive refrigerators and freezers and such like we have nowadays because everything is super comp complicated and can't be like it was back in the 1940s you've got to have clean power sometimes a generator will not produce the clean power that you need and this is the answer to that so you can plug this in to your grid right and if the power goes out you can fire your generator up it'll pump power into your main panel and then go through this to your fridges and freezers and electronics that need that pure sine wave so without further Ado again 20 amp 20 amp 20 amp 20 amp 20 amp we've got five 20 amp plugs right here a 30 amp plug right here that's a 120 and a 12vt DC Marine uh hookup I guess that's for charging stuff that charges with one of these I don't know if you could put a automotive cigarette lighter in there or not so that's what it is we'll unplug this Critter right here you can see our output went down to zero we are charging at 60 watts right now we don't have very much sunshine and we'll go ahead and plug this Critter back in wonder why these are pointed up in this direction the opposite of what you probably see in your house unless you've got a newer house so if something were to fall down on this say you had something metal sitting on here and it fell down on here it would hit the ground post first instead of the hot post so these are the ground post right here cool now there are two charging speeds on this you can charge this several different ways you can put it in the trunk of your car and you can charge it with your uh cigarette lighter or power outlet you can put this in your garage or your shop plug it into regular AC power so you don't have to buy the solar panels you can plug it into regular AC power and it will serve as a battery backup Bank in case your power goes out most of the time of power outage around here is probably going to last two to five maybe even 8 hours as you can see right here we are charging our charging station over here and we have 13 hours of power at 50% now we're not pulling a lot of Watts okay we're pulling what about 180 Watts right now these deep freezers back here I have three of them running right now and in the cool time of year they're only pulling all three of them put together about 70 Watts so this is enough to kick butt on running your freezers if you've got some meat in your deep freezers whether you hunt wild game or whatever now you could take this along with your camping you can run your camper with it you can run all your appliances everything you'd want to run it has wheels on it right here are your wheels nice robust Heavy Wheels again these are your circuit breakers this is your AC charger Port this is for your extra battery point so you can double this up make it twice as much power and this is your EV charging port and I don't have very long fingernails so it's hard for me to get in there but there's your EV charging port so really really cool this thing's heavy guys it weighs about 110 lbs and it is lithium iron phosphate battery system okay so not just lithium lithium iron phosphate which I'm told is what the newest electric vehicles are are using so it's new and good technology let's go out here and take a look at the solar panels why not ride the chair right so these are the solar panels there are two of them right here I've got them set up you can lay them flat I like to set them on a table and what I'm going to do is I'll leave them pointed towards the Sun as the sun sets over here and then when I'm ready in the morning I will flip these dudes back down just like that and I'll let it lay flat out here this is a 240 W Sol solar panel this is a 240 W solar panel so you've got 480 watts of solar getting pumped into this thing at the brightest time of day so you never end up having to plug it in if you charge it up on solar if you want to run it as an uninterrupted power system you can charge it up on solar you can bring it into your house and then hook up your computers and all your goodies that you don't want to go out when the power goes out and you got it covered and you didn't have to pay anything for the electricity it'll just run straight through this and it'll tell you how many watts you're using so really cool guys this is tool Tuesday again every week sometimes it's more exciting sometimes it's a farm tool sometimes it's a truck sometimes it's a tractor sometimes it's the gear on the back of the ATV right there so this week we're showing you a cool option for getting off the grid and a cool option to keep your fridges freezers and electronics running during a power outage so you don't have to pull the cord fire up the generator and burn fuel we can utilize the sun to do the job for us guys thanks a lot again I'll post a link down here this is the oops Mega 5 I'll post a link down the video description for you guys and if I can get a coupon code I'll scroll it right here right now and we'll put it down the video description thank you guys so much for watching the Stony Ridge Farm Channel this is tool Tuesday
