Apply the First Coat of Paint

What happens here

With the paint and spray gun ready, begin applying the first coat of paint (a base coat or primer) to the furniture. Maintain a consistent distance (typically 6-10 inches) from the surface and move the spray gun in smooth, overlapping passes. Each pass should overlap the previous one by about 50%. The video shows the painter applying a thin, even coat, moving deliberately across the top and sides of the small table. He then rotates the table on the 'PaintLine' stand to access different sides and apply paint to the front, sides, and lower shelf. Avoid holding the gun in one spot for too long to prevent drips and uneven build-up. Aim for light, even coverage rather than a thick coat, especially for the first pass.
