AWESOME!! TIME SAVING TIPS ON WINDING YOUR WEED WHACKER!!

What happens here

With the internal spool removed, locate the small holes or slots on the spool where the trimmer line will be inserted. For this dual-line setup, identify the central indexing hole. Insert one end of the trimmer line into this central hole. Then, begin winding the line neatly and tightly onto one side of the spool, working backward (counter-clockwise) from the direction you might intuitively think. This ensures proper tension and prevents tangling. Continue winding until the entire length of line for that side is on the spool, then secure the end in the designated notch on the spool's edge. Use a cutting tool, such as a Gerber Center Drive multi-tool, to trim any excess line.

Goal: Properly wind the first length of trimmer line onto the spool.

Tools and materials

  • Gerber Center Drive Multi-Tool Gerber — Cutting the trimmer line to length
  • Internal Spool STIHL — The component onto which the trimmer line is wound
  • Trimmer Line — The cutting filament to be wound onto the spool
