A thing of beauty, concrete steps restored using a Milwaukee grinder. #milwaukee #tools #torginol
What happens here
Once the epoxy base coat with broadcasted flakes has cured sufficiently (usually 12-24 hours), use a metal scraper or trowel to 'knock down' any vertically protruding flakes. The video shows this action from 0:00-0:03 and again from 0:39-0:52. Apply firm, even pressure with the scraper, moving it across the entire flaked surface to remove loose flakes and create a more level texture. Collect the excess flakes that are scraped off; these can sometimes be reused if they are clean.
Goal: Remove loose and vertically standing flakes to create a flatter, more uniform surface.
