a leaf BULLDOZER for a mower!

What happens here

The leaf plow is initially tested on a paved driveway covered with leaves and a thin layer of snow. The presenter observes that the plow doesn't effectively scrape the surface at first. They adjust the plow by moving it into 'transport mode', which lifts the entire unit slightly, allowing the rubber squeegee edge to make better contact and scrape the frozen, packed leaves more effectively. A helper is seen using a Stihl leaf blower to assist in moving leaves.

Goal: Evaluate plow performance on a hard surface and adjust for optimal scraping of frozen leaves.

Tools and materials

  • Stihl leaf blower — Assisting in moving leaves and clearing areas the plow can't reach
  • Leaves N/A — The primary material to be cleared
  • Light snow N/A — Providing an additional challenge for clearing

but let's just get into this well shoot Zach we don't have to go very far to to try it we get all these leaves right in front of the door let's give it a go there so in the beginning it just wasn't impressed I just couldn't really get it to scrape but that's because I'm a dirt worker I'm a dude that's right used to bulldozers I'm used to ski loaders I'm used to being able to control the screen and this is nothing like what I'm used to it's designed for Turfs it's designed not to scrape the surface off it's designed to gently pick the leaves out of the surface and carry them along not grind them out like a dozer and the leaves I'm dealing with in the street are froze to the ground because we've already had snow [Applause] huh this video would have been a lot easier this time last week when there wasn't six inches of snow came down over the weekend right no yeah perfect but yeah [Laughter] well we want to see how it works so let's get a pie yeah
