What happens here
Large structural posts are carefully plumbed and secured to the deck or foundation. Horizontal beams are then lifted into place atop these posts, forming the perimeter and primary support for the overhead structure. This often requires multiple people and temporary bracing to ensure stability during construction. Fasteners include heavy-duty bolts, structural screws, and metal connectors.
Goal: Tall vertical posts and substantial beams are erected and fastened to the deck to form the skeleton of a pergola or a covered roof structure over a portion of the deck.
