8 Steps To Thick Green Lawn In Just 3 Weeks

What happens here

The presenter introduces the current state of the lawn, showing dead grass (thatch) intertwined with green grass. He then demonstrates using a Ryobi 14-inch dethatcher/aerator to remove this dead material. The dethatcher has spikes that rip out the thatch, allowing water, air, and nutrients to reach the soil. The removed thatch is collected in the dethatcher's bag. He mentions that he will mow later to help pick up the debris.

Goal: Remove dead grass and thatch layer

Tools and materials

of work to do let's get to it so one of the first things we're gonna notice here is that there's a lot of dead grass behind in between all the nice green grass uh we're gonna use a dethatcher and what that's gonna do is it takes these little spikes and starts ripping out all the dead grass that's there allowing for water air nutrients to actually penetrate through so when i say detaching first [Music] look at all that dead grass that we just pulled out here's a different side of the yard here as you can see the dethatching brought some soil forward which is good because now the dead grass is gone and so all the rain nutrients can actually penetrate through uh i decided to mow later after detaching so that the mower can help you pick up some of this stuff some people might argue depending how tall your grass is but this is just fine
