5 Tips Rolling Walls. Professional Interior Painting.
What happens here
Before beginning to paint a wall, it is critical to properly load the roller with paint. Roll the roller repeatedly in the paint pan, ensuring the nap is completely saturated with paint. Avoid starting to roll a wall when the roller is not fully loaded, as this will lead to 'dry spots' and uneven coverage. Listen for the sound of the roller; a well-loaded roller makes a 'wet' sound, while an under-loaded one will sound 'hissy' or dry. Continue loading until the roller feels absolutely saturated.
Goal: Before applying paint to the wall, thoroughly load the roller nap by rolling it repeatedly in the paint pan until it's fully saturated, preventing dry spots and ensuring even application.
