5 Tips Rolling Walls. Professional Interior Painting.

What happens here

Once the roller is fully loaded, apply paint in small sections. Start by placing the loaded roller in the middle of the wall section you are working on to 'unload' the initial heavy paint. Then, roll the paint from the top (ceiling line) to the bottom (floor/baseboard) in overlapping strokes, covering the entire section evenly. This 'laying out' technique prevents lap marks and ensures a uniform finish. For light colors, the layout technique might be less critical, but it's essential for dark or deep-based colors to avoid visible imperfections. Always keep the paint bucket close by to easily reload the roller without excessive walking, further enhancing efficiency.

Goal: Apply paint in small sections, starting in the middle of the wall, and then 'lay it out' by rolling from top to bottom (or bottom to top) to ensure even coverage, prevent lap marks, and achieve a professional finish.
