3 worst Skidloaders I've owned! 4K

What happens here

The second worst machine is identified as the Terex PT50. The main issue with this machine was critically poor design regarding the hydraulic hose routing for the track assemblies. These hoses were exposed and ran through an open cavity where dirt and debris would accumulate. This accumulation, combined with the movement of the machine, caused the hoses to rub and chafe, leading to frequent hydraulic leaks and complete loss of machine function. The machine was also significantly underpowered, often struggling to move its own weight up inclines, even without a load. It would frequently get stuck in soft terrain like a swimming pool base, requiring other machines to extract it. Parts availability was also cited as a major problem, with even lug nuts being difficult to find.

Goal: Understand the design flaws and underperformance of the Terex PT50.

Tools and materials

  • Hydraulic Hoses — Prone to chafing and bursting due to poor design
  • Other Equipment — To extract the Terex when it gets stuck
  • Replacement Parts — Difficult to obtain for this machine
  • Terex PT50 Skid Loader Terex — Heavy equipment for construction tasks
  • Dirt and Debris N/A — Causing wear and tear on hydraulic hoses
