What happens here
Identify and clear the ground where the raised garden bed will be located. Place the first set of interlocking corner blocks (often concrete or composite blocks designed for this purpose) at each corner of where the bed will sit. Ensure they are level and properly spaced to accommodate the length of your cedar planks. Then, carefully place the pre-cut cedar planks into the grooves or on the ledges of these corner blocks, creating the bottom tier of your rectangular or square garden bed frame. The blocks provide the vertical support and connection between the planks. Check for squareness using a large carpenter's square or by measuring diagonals.
Goal: This step involves placing interlocking corner blocks at the desired locations and then laying the first layer of cut cedar planks to form the base perimeter of the raised bed.
