Step 2 · Measure the Tread Depth

For each stair, use a tape measure to find its depth. This is the distance from the very front edge of the step straight back to where it meets the vertical board (the 'riser'). Recording this measurement accurately is key to ensuring your new treads provide full, protective coverage and peace of mind with every step.
