Our carpet stair treads are indeed designed to be washable, offering you easy maintenance. However, this crucial step must always be done by hand or through targeted spot-cleaning. We want to be absolutely clear: *never* place your Oak Valley Designs treads in a washing machine. The powerful cycles and high temperatures of a washing machine will severely damage the specialized adhesive backing that gives our treads their secure, non-slip grip. This damage isn't reversible and will compromise the safety and longevity of your treads. A gentle hand-wash with a mild detergent is all that's required to keep them fresh and clean, preserving their quality and your peace of mind.
