Step 4 · Tear and Secure the Tape

Once you have completed the required number of wraps, finish the process cleanly. Pull the tape taut away from the fitting until it stretches and snaps. This will provide a clean break without leaving long, loose tails. Use your finger to firmly press the loose end of the tape against the wrapped threads, smoothing it down so it adheres and follows the direction of the wrap. This prevents the end from catching and unraveling during assembly.
