Step 8 · Restore Power and Test the System

Once all maintenance tasks are complete, return to your electrical panel and switch the circuit breakers for the indoor air handler and outdoor condenser unit back to the 'ON' position. Allow the system a few minutes to power up. Go to your thermostat and set it to 'Cool' mode with a temperature setting below the current room temperature. Listen for the outdoor unit to start and feel for cool air being distributed through the vents. Monitor the system for a short period to ensure it is operating normally without any strange noises or issues.
