Wrenching on the Broken John Deere Gator and our VERY ANGRY COW!!
What happens here
The old oil filter (Fram Ultra Synthetic) is removed using a cap wrench, ensuring the oil drain pan is positioned underneath to catch any drips. A new OEM John Deere oil filter is then prepared by applying a small amount of fresh engine oil to its gasket. The new filter is carefully threaded into place and hand-tightened, followed by an additional 1/16th of a turn with the cap wrench for a secure fit. The engine is then refilled with 2.3 quarts of Castrol GTX SAE 5W-30 full synthetic oil using a funnel. A handy tip is to always have a rag ready to catch drips when removing the funnel after filling.
Goal: Install new oil filter and add fresh engine oil to the Gator.
