Why Honeywell Home T9 Smart Thermostat is BETTER!

hey guys Alex who can hear from mr. billet and in today's video we're gonna take off our old eco be smart thermostat and replace it with a brand new Honeywell home t9 smart thermostat really excited about this never use it never played with it so let's open the box and see what it does let's go alright guys so the Honeywell home t9 thermostat right out of the box a couple of things there advertising about it is the sensors that it comes with they can reach up to 200 feet away they has the motion detector to detect if there's people there seeing you priority whether to do it by schedule or to detect when there's actually traffic in that area it has the ability to control the temperatures in your home via your smart phone device while being away or simply using the scheduled geofencing system that's included in the device one of the things I'm really excited about are the smart sensors are able to regulate the temperatures within your house to keep it more of an even feel one of the issues that we're having is the upstairs usually gets way hot and the downstairs gets really cold so hopefully this will solve our problem and of course the badge of honor is able to link up to your Google assistant or your Amazon Alexa devices with that all being said let's crack this thing open it's already this seems like a very similar application they have the same its own little docking station that kind of goes right into the wall and then the markings for the wires and then I sparked one of the first steps they do find what your existing colors of your wires to basically say what is your furnace running on kind of wiring system and then it's got these little handy dandy little stickers that say if that color is red then on red put this letter to you know match it up and make sure that a community is appropriately with your thermostat itself so so far so good all right so at this point it looks like we were labeled some of our wires here it tells us to go to the garage to take the furnace cover off and look at some of the wires are coming out I take a picture of our phone and then label them with the rest of the sticker so to the garage [Music] all right guys moment of truth we're gonna connect this in here go to garage hit the breaker and see what really happens fingers crossed and your hospitals crossed hey it works let's play with it [Music] okay so so far I get an installed running operating this is the sensor we're gonna put it in our master bedroom to make sure the temperature up there is the same as here let's go so with the recommend about installing this sensor they're recommending installing at five feet above the ground make sure it's not under any event or over any kind of vent not in direct sunlight and not behind any kind of doors so I figured this is the perfect area this is the walking away traffic into our room in the same time I never actually have a direct sunlight this way I'm gonna put it right here all you have is this little double-sided tape we're gonna take this backing stick it right up there and we're gonna take our sensor and click it there let's go fire this thing up alright guys so I've had the t9 smart thermostat for a few hours now I ran it through all the heat cycles the cool cycles the Auto cycles the fans the whole shebang make sure everything's turning on turning off the way should I started playing with it it's really simple you get out of standby like that here's your forecast for the day one o'clock eighty three scroll down through nine pm eighty-one really well go back here these are my heat heating up to 68 cooled down to 73 you can just click on it and then adjust it up or down from there I'm done there then we're gonna hit here here's all the different minutes that we have the priorities the schedule the weather the fan the mode really simple now here's one of my favorite parts about this thermostat it gives it priority what you're gonna set it to are you gonna use this thermostat to say this is the temperature that we want to keep and only here or do we want to use the one that can attack into the actual sensor in our room or maybe even both so we're gonna hit priority we have the selected rooms or the active rooms that's the one it's going to trigger for how much because going here so this is probably room to work with so we're gonna do selected rooms living room master bedroom 73 right now in our living room 80 in the master it's gonna start cooking up over there so I'm gonna get priority to my master take it off the living room and guess what I'm done now this thing is gonna do all the work for me on top of the aesthetics of the t9 smart thermostat one of my other favorite features is the advanced menu they're kind of custom tailors this unit to what you have in your house the type of furnace in heating and cooling that you have specifically with is it air cooled oil cooled or anything else like that it also helps you set reminders like when to change your air filter 30 days 60 90 120 and it'll pop that up and tell you exactly where to go and do it so you never have to forget and the last thing that I like about the t9 smart thermostat is the application that you can use on your mobile device now as you saw already I had a previous smart thermostat system and I'll be completely honest with you never use the app system just because when I went on it it was a little too confusing I didn't want to spend the time on top of all the other apps try to figure it out not the t9 the t9 everything basically looks the same I mean you got your mode heating cooling and the priority in the schedule I mean it's all right there whatever you click there's priority boom there's priority it makes it super easy so convenient and you don't have to waste the rest of your day trying to learn a new app so all in all I think they made it super friendly to use big thumbs up I was imagine this at summer time you went on vacation you turn off your AC so it's not racking up any bills your deli's notification you're driving home and you're gonna come to a hot house here's what you do you get your phone out mmm 77 a little too warm
