Why don’t we double miter our stairs?! Stay tuned for tomorrows vlog! #carpentry #build

What happens here

The video begins by showing a worker placing a light-colored composite decking board onto a pre-framed stair step. This board serves as the primary tread surface. After positioning the board, the worker uses a cordless drill/driver to secure it firmly to the underlying structure. This process is repeated for each tread, building up the layers of the multi-tiered stair unit.

Goal: Lay and secure the main walking surface for the lowest step.

Tools and materials

  • Cordless Drill/Driver Makita — Securing the composite decking boards to the stair frame
  • Composite Decking Fasteners — Attaching the tread board to the frame. These can be hidden clips or face screws
  • Light-colored Composite Decking Board — Forming the primary tread surface of the stair
