Level and Compact the Ground

What happens here

With all concrete removed, the exposed soil must be prepared to create a stable foundation for the new structure. Use a rake or shovel to roughly level the ground, filling in any low spots and evening out high spots. Then, operate a vibratory plate compactor across the entire area. Make multiple, overlapping passes (typically 2-3 passes in perpendicular directions) to ensure uniform compaction, which helps prevent future settling and provides a solid base for construction.

Goal: Create a stable, dense, and level sub-base.
