Who is the Hose King? The Man behind Everything Hose.

hey so we're here at the host King and commerce Commerce is that all right Thomas California Commerce California and Jason is the manufacturer of our custom hose whips and hoses so we're gonna take a tour of the factory we're gonna hear a little about who the host King is how they came about and how our hosts came about so let's go in and chat with Jason right now so you can hear who the host King actually is garden hoses we've got red hoses the bigger hoses there's other stuff stainless steel hoses it's just like endless sort of hosts everywhere so we got some really cool um assembling stuff over here we're going to show you some how they clean hoses um get the inside of them clean their hydraulic hoses so let's go check out some of that there's nobody [Music] there's nobody like you yeah [Music] don't you get a girl you're gorgeous I can't see how sometimes you don't notice [Music] so here we are with the family behind the host game so you know I contacted Jason quite a few years ago about manufacturing some custom hose whips for me I didn't think there was anything out there you know that met my specifications I wanted somebody that could just make a hose whip that meant everything every need I had and Jason was willing to work with me and um I do appreciate that Jason so we've been doing business for quite a while and um you know what's really important with me is doing business with family-owned companies right here in the United States so Jason um we've got you we've got your sister Jenny and we've got your son Sarah right here the family behind the business so can you give us just a little bit of rundown about um host King who they are how long they've been in business and just let our audience know yeah so um our company name is Commerce hose and Industrial Products and our DBA is host King so doing business as the host King we started in 1994. my father started this business and um he took one employee with him and that was right by the time I graduated high school so I immediately came in so I was the third guy so I've been here about 29 years now and that's how long Congress house has been in business back then um we were short staffed so I was the the only warehouse worker the only driver I answered about a third of the phone calls in the office but fast forward today we have about 15 of us the other team name has been around since 1958 so um I've been in I've been in business here for about 29 almost 30 years now my father who acquired the host King name that 1958 so my father has over 60 years in this industry so that's pretty amazing so um I've got a tour of the factory and I know you guys manufacture or a simple all kinds of hoses but I started walking through here and you do way more than just poses so what can you tell us a little bit about what you guys sell when you make or manufacture just what goes in and out of business here every day as far as the hose products we sell to just about every industry that you could imagine we sell to the automotive industry the Marine industry and of course the painting industry the food and beverage industry we deal with hydraulic hoses concrete hoses cool Plastering hoses so um we definitely downloaded quite a few different Industries Jennifer will ask you a couple questions how long have you been working for the company and what is your position here so I've been in accounting HR uh again we all wear a lot of hats so kind of whatever is necessary we don't really be accounting so we got brother sister and mom and son Seth um Seth what did you do for our skin now uh I've been working here for about almost five years and I do many inside cells and I do do a little bit of outside so as I take on a few accounts outside of it again a few I do a little bit of everything in the warehouse if I'm making hoses cutting your noses so we've always prided ourselves on being a small company my mom who used to do all of her invoices by hand back in the day she also used to once a week bake cookies or jam and it would be Mouse production and we'd hand that out to all of our customers to this day my mother still likes cooking and baking for our team here and once a week we have my mom and my nephew miles they do lunch once a week they do trade some lasagna love you chicken piccata homemade they make it on Wednesday they bring it to our office on Thursday and we have enough food to feed all of our employees around 15 of us plus customers there's enough food usually every Thursday for about 25 to 30 people they simply are Jason you guys um the best poses that I've ever used for airless sprayers if you want a whip if you want a hose paint isolbiaco sell some and we really appreciate doing business with them and so it really is a true family business so you know I think um we definitely want to be a big part of supporting family businesses that's what we're you know all about paint life Supply Co we're all about supporting painters and tradesmens in the trades and you guys are supporting us in the trades by making the best products you could possibly make when it comes to airless homes and whips and hoses for a nice life so we do
