What happens here
This video demonstrates the operation of various heavy equipment, including a mini loader and skid steer. While not instructional on proper load securement using straps and chains, it highlights the dangers of improperly loading a heavy grapple attachment onto a pickup truck bed without employing any securement methods, leading to potential vehicle damage and safety hazards.

(16,664 characters)good morning you guys today we're going to be checking out a brand new machine i did have a chance to run it one time out on a project it's called the workie quad bike this is the same company that i got my loader from i call this the herky jerky workie quad cause i don't run it very well but today we're gonna put this to the test problem is before we can do it all we've got is this demolition grapple on it so we've got to go get a bucket and a blade and then we're gonna come back here and we're gonna see what it can do but in the meantime let's just check it out she runs a honda engine i believe this is a 25 horsepower engine don't quote me on that i'll try to find out a pretty simple start boom pull your choke let's see if she fires it's cold obviously snow [Applause] all right so she fired up she's a little cold-blooded i have noticed that but here's the controls on her so this these are grips this isn't like a joystick controller so your forward and backward movement is here uh this controls this side this controls this side this controls your auxiliaries and then your bucket you want to go up down here you want to curl here actually that's the opposite but you guys can see you've got four sticks to contend with so while you're operating you can your hands will be here and your fingers get to do all of the fine work this is what this is meant for so let's put her to work enough talking start doing enough let's go well before we can go so the first thing that i want to do is just to test how well this thing can scoop and maybe even load so the whole concept of this video came from the fact that i walked into a truck utilities company and found one of these dedicated sidewalk snow removal units kind of like a ventrac i think they call it an ssv or another unit that is out there these tinier units that have a dedicated blade on it but these units also have you know dedicated bride units they're set up for winter snow plowing but i wanted to know is there a viable option out there for guys that maybe want to use something year-round and that's when it dawned on me this may be it challenge accepted i'm not making a mistake the problem with the shorter box is you can't get everything and you need i got to get that somehow squeezed into the back of here and it looks like if i move these hoses over i may be able to just gently tuck it in ever so softly and sweetly into the back of my short bed truck i wish i had a long box how am i gonna do this let's see if we can hook the top one fork right there balance it over the side of the truck teeter it in worth a try and this is exactly why you see so many work trucks with the big dents on the side of it because guys think they can do this and then one thing goes wrong and it drops on it and i kept thinking of that the entire time i was like oh my god this is gonna fall off and wreck my truck this is exactly what happens so many times try to load over the side [Music] i hate doing stuff like this i really really do that slips and you guys know what you guys guys have seen him slip before so i use this truck for work but i don't plow with it and i don't troll trailers with it i haul equipment i haul gear i load up the back i use it for meetings i mean i use it for a lot of work just not the stuff you're typically used to seeing okay let's see how we did we got that tucked away nicely we got room i think we could fit more stuff in there right here all right let's go drop this off get the bucket get the blade get what we need and get get on down the road so one of the questions that's come up a few times while i've been doing some videos is where did you come up where did you get your cast loader from well this is the same company that makes my cast loader and so i thought well you know what let's find out because i got it from tne distributing out of rogers minnesota and that's probably not very practical for a lot of you guys so i wanted to find out if there were some more resources available for you guys oh look at this this is this new truck it's not really new but okay i'm not sure if you guys got a chance to see that but we just passed the titan hd i'm wondering how those work as work trucks are they like a three-quarter ton or i don't know i don't know a whole lot about them so if you guys do let me know what you think of them in the comments down below because i'm just kind of wondering how they would work for a work vehicle options right let's get back to where we were so yeah i have seen these trucks before but i've never actually worked what so uh just wondering if they're a good option like for the stuff i'm doing in this ford since i'm not towing or plowing i think it you know what's a good another good option honestly guys you're gonna hate me for this but i was thinking about experimenting with the new tesla work truck um just to see can you actually work it and how i heard some things like when you tow with an one this new tesla work truck it just kills the batteries so i'd like to test some of that stuff out to see if is it actually a practical option well i think tne distributing oh that's that that one too the one right below it i'll get it right eventually it's here how about that this is where i actually got my loader from so we'll go in and meet harry we'll go check out the place but more importantly we gotta get my bucket all right i'm gonna answer the question where did i get my mini loader from and where did i get this thing from where you can get them close by to you so i'm gonna try to find out looks like they also sell a little bit of skag my buddies okay just don't wheelie them jab let's see if we can find harry his heidi hall how you doing here good to see you buddy yeah all right um i got a truck full of stuff okay can you help me get it off sure all right we're probably gonna need a strap or something because it's a short bed and i snuggled it in real tight i tucked it in good how you doing it's good um hey quick question for you i've had a couple guys ask where i got my mini loader from uh we're in rogers right yes are there any places like across the united states where they can get them yet or how's that going we've got about 10 12 dealers across the u.s oh you do okay what would they look up to find it uh tnedistributing.com okay and then go to the dealer locator tnadistributing.com dealer locator perfect all right well let's get my stuff off and the new stuff on and then go test out this quirky quad perfect you don't mind i call it the herky jerky quad do you whatever you want man the first time i tried this workie quad it just beat the crud out of me those controls are sensitive and it takes some practice in fact today today you're going to see me this is my real first test of this thing and it starts out rougher than all get out and if i didn't man if i wasn't making a video i would have probably gave up on it because i just i couldn't get it at first but then i just stayed with it and pretty soon i'm learning to feather the controllers and pretty soon i go from just being able to load with it to be able to actually do stuff with it but my first test is you see that snow-covered pile of sticks right in front of me i want to get that brought back out to the swamp we had a tree fall down in the swamp then we went out and cleaned up the tree and then we cleaned up all of our mess and carried it out of the swamp and now i'm just gonna chest out loading it into the gravely and bringing the the mess back out there and see if i can spread that stuff back out but i got to fire all this stuff up i actually got to put all this stuff away to be quite honest with you we our crews are all out working i mean there's just hasn't been a free minute still on the rim let's not let's not make it worse i know it's not a very high the gravel is not high okay but it's it's not much different than a dump trailer with low sides right and it loaded it just just fine you didn't give me i mean it's not going to load a dump truck but it's going to load a dump trailer and so will this extend the season out well i mean if you can load a trailer if you can do some grading work with it if you can do some basic things with it you can have a piece of equipment that's going to earn its key 365 days of the year instead of just one season maybe a good option for guys like you could throw a blade on the front of this thing and you can plow snow all day long if you wanted to but how i wanted to find out just how well does it work because my very first experience with it it was a tough machine to get used to those four little controls bouncy around and they're sensitive but once you get the hang of especially you younger guys that play xbox and playstation so you're used to you know using fine motor skills that's what this machine requires it's not like a heavy eq it's not like a regular piece of heavy equipment so if you're like a heavy equipment operator and you're coming in and you think you're gonna pretty much pick this up it's gonna throw you a little bit for a loop it moves a lot faster than the experience like right here this was the ah this was a fail like just trying to get this stuff to grab and move i mean yeah it's a lot of logs and stuff but boy it was rough i was using for a while there was just using my tires to try to get this stuff to work down and try to move around it just wasn't there but within a few hours i was able to start getting it dialed in you're gonna see that out here in just a [Music] [Applause] minute [Applause] [Music] all right guys well we got a mud hole and we've got wood chips so let's see if we can fix the mud hole [Music] so i ground up a whole bunch of wood chips a couple years back i never did get around to cleaning them up and i figured now's a good time to do it all right we're gonna attempt to see if we can climb the gravely into that mud hole we made trying to clean up stuff and uh spread these wood chips over it and climb back out so we had a storm come through and knock a bunch of trees down so we had to do a whole bunch of cleanup and that inevitably left us with as much of a mess as the trees had behind so i'm trying to get it all straightened out and put back together box then dump that clean this time really dumps pretty clean all right guys i don't have grading down very well with this thing yet but i think i've got feathering nails let me show you you know i think a couple of the things that if you really want to have a machine that can work year-round you want something that you can grade with and feathering came pretty easy because the machine controls are so sensitive i can just tap them and that's what's making it bounce like this which took nothing to master you literally just tap a couple controls but you know i'm giving myself the atta boy i need all right next challenge grading this would be like trying to grade i mean it's basically wood chips but i think it's going to have a workable material like kind of a clay black dirt let's give it a go it will actually this stuff was surprisingly a lot like kind of a moist moist-ish soil so it was workable uh and i thought this is actually not a bad test of this thing typically when i grade i like to grade going forward and backward but i should probably check my fuel sure can most kick butt fuel can ever made i think this has a two gallon fuel tank and i ran out of fuel so it's gonna be interesting to see if this will fire on its own or do i gotta go through a priming process all right let's see if she fires no special nothing i'm not primed or nothing a lot of times when you run a piece of equipment out it won't fire unless you separately prime it this thing fired right up so kudos to them for getting that because sometimes you get air in the system right and you got to bleed it and you got to go through the fuel system the fuel filter system and it's a pain in the butt thankfully this thing just popped right back up now when i grade i usually like to grade going forward and backward and when i don't have the forward down it's usually easier backward and you'll see i do that a lot in this i just go forward and back drag but when i'm grading i'm using the back of the bucket and the front of the bucket so if the machine is here i use both simultaneously i'm starting to get comfortable on it now i feel like i could start grading going forward i feel like i can get that trigger just to feather just right i got the bucket resting right on the stops of the machine so all the control is in the forward and a half of the bucket i don't know i mean i'm not using a grading bar i'm just using the bucket i'm putting it the it down right on the stops and then i'm using the forward and aft the tilt forward and backward on the bucket and not that bad of a job not that bad of a job i keep finding more stuff to do and i will say that i'm starting to change my mind first time i hopped on this thing i was like uh i don't know i mean i didn't really feel like it was a productive machine i felt like the controls were overly touchy and you know what after actually getting accustomed to it for just this very first day i've got the grading i feel pretty comfortable grading now i feel pretty comfortable chipping up ice and snow plowing with it getting that edge just fine tuned in there kind of starting to get from more familiar with those controls where i could see where you know you give it a week and this thing is going to be kind of like an extension of your body almost i mean it's it's it's sensitive i i don't know that may be stretching it a little bit but anyway that's what my two cents on this is you guys tell me what you think in the comments down below and hopefully we'll see on another one god bless and go get them you guys yeah so my first actual two experience with the workee quad weren't the best and i can't say i can't blame the machine for either one of my first two experiences this was my third experience my first experience was pulling garbage out of the wood in the hoarder's farm and i just wasn't familiar with it trying to snake it in and out i kept going you know those controls are sensitive i kept banging my hips into each side of it i could it hurt it hurt and then my second experience which wasn't this machine's fault was we had to knock down a building well went through the building nothing was in it you know it's full of garbage debris we're gonna push it down push it down the hill and get it ready to be disposed of so as i'm pushing the building down the hill a family of skunks comes running out eight or nine adult skunks in a clan spraying everywhere everywhere again not the machine's fault but ho nelly they were underneath they had a they made a den underneath this building and they came screaming out screaming with their tails wagging in the air they actually weren't making any sounds they were just spraying left and right and then my third experience was today and today by the end of the day i started in the morning by the end of the day i had fine grading done i had loading down i had finally got you enough used to those controls enough that i felt comfortable to be able to start to actually begin to work it and that was my experience with the working quad i wanted to show something that maybe could extend the season out for some of these guys i don't know if this is a viable option for you guys to do snow sidewalk snow plowing and snow removal to be able to now do spring summer and fall work with it as well but it's out there it's an option and that's all i wanted to show you guys god bless go get them and hopefully we'll see you on another one we got a super cool one coming up hopefully it gets passed through toro's legal department i took a toro titan max brand new mower that they just developed and there was a site you guys that i've been looking at for two years and i would literally walk into this site just shake my head and said forget it this is stupid there's no way i'm gonna try it well i did it i i did it um i was out mowing an abandoned mall the police came uh so then i switched area switched areas and uh i went over to this site and it's what you what you'll see in that video is ease this is easily the worst side i've ever been in and that's coming down hopefully down the pipe i don't know if torah's legal team is going to allow it to fly though they're going to probably look at it and go nope nope nope nope hopefully it does though god bless go get them you guys and hopefully we'll see you on that one and if not we've got another one coming up too just catch on that one catch you guys
